AATH 2008 Annual Conference & Cruise of a Lifetime (Video)
2008 Conference Brochure (pdf)
We are a professional association whose members help others through the study and positive use of humor and laughter! The five primary "communities" we serve are; Health & Wellness, Seniors & Aging, Education, Spirituality & Faith Communities, and Business. AATH members includes doctors and nurses, researchers, caring clowns, psychologists, therapists, social workers, teachers, administrators, clergy, expert speakers and authors, and a wide variety of businessmen and women.
Some practitioners of therapeutic humor and laughter come to our annual conference to sharpen their skills and take advantage of the extensive networking opportunities. Others attend because they are in search of a dose of therapeutic humor as they heal, either physically or emotionally, from some sort of "hurt" - perhaps coping with a life challenge such as a serious illness or a recent loss. And, some curious folks come to our annual conference because it just sounds like a lot of fun (which it most definitely is), something refreshing, positive and different!
Above all, AATH is dedicated to separating fact from fiction - promoting what is known about humor and laughter as opposed to what is all too often perpetuated as myth. AATH is a leader in providing evidence-based information about current research and practical applications of humor and laughter in the world today. For 20 years, AATH has been actively changing the perception and understanding of the importance of humor and laughter... spreading the message that humor and laughter do have a place in creating healthier, more effective environments in which to live and work and play!
